Physiotherapy focusing on rehabilitation is particularly beneficial if you have been affected by trauma (including post fractures), are post-surgery (ie knee replacement, hip replacement), or have a neurological condition such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis or experienced a stroke.
Physiotherapy and rehabilitation can assist to:
- Provide a thorough assessment of strength, mobility, and functional ability to determine your key areas to target with your rehabilitation program
- Set realistic and achievable goals
- Assess if you would benefit from any assistive devices such as braces, or walking aids
- Develop a comprehensive rehabilitation program focusing on building your strength, maintaining and/or improving your function, improving your mobility, and reducing your risk of falls
Physiotherapy and the National Disability Index Scheme
There are three ways in which NDIS funding is managed:
- Self-managed funding
- Plan-managed funding
